Waterbeds by Watersong

Yes, waterbeds are still a popular and viable sleep solution! The industry has come along way in the R&D of waterbed mattresses and waterbed heaters over the last 50 years. For the past 30 years Watersong has been building quality support pedestals and frames using only solid wood and multi-laminate plywood for decking. No particleboard or wafer board (larger particles) are allowed in my shop! Wood sings when cut, the later screams and off-gases nasty stuff! The production using screws and glue as apposed to stapled with wishful thinking keeps customers coming back over the years with projects in mind, not problems in hand!

The pillowstop headboard has become one of the more popular trademarks of Watersong Furniture, accommodating any type of bed frame or mattress. The two doors are at a slight angle, with a piano hinge This allows you to sit up in bed propped up with a pillow behind you – very comfortable.  The example in the picture is in Maple with Walnut trim, exemplifying the split center feature.  With a king size head board, this space allows for an alarm clock without detracting from the function of the doors.

The pillowstop headboard can also be used a base for book shelf headboard above.  This Oak headboard has a pillowstop as a base and extends up with cabinet storage and lights. This clean European look was completed by the customer’s selection of his own lights. Whether open shelved or closed cabinets, these headboards are functional! closed-caabinet-pillowstop-waterbed-headboard

These clients chose wormy maple to match other furniture they already owned. It features a raised panel headboard and four spacious drawers in the pedestal section with rustic style pulls. There is also a long storage area available from the foot of the bed.

painted water bed

A waterbed frame for those who prefer a clean simple design. The low profile makes the matress height low but prevents the use of drawers under the bed. It's made from poplar, then primed and painted. While I'm a fan of wood grains, some people prefer painted surfaces on furniture to match other decor.

This oak waterbed features matching four panel footboard and headboard. It is a mission style piece with Sticknee drawer pulls and has tons of storage built in to the pedestal drawers.
